It's perfect painting weather....

...but life has other plans.  I've got the beginnings of Thomas Keller's recipe for Chicken Soup with Dumplings on the stove.  Yes,  I know it's before noon but there are lots of steps (more on that tomorrow).  The dog and the laundry need a wee bit of attention before I head over to school with my sewing machine to help Theo's 5th grade class with a quilting/heritage project. Then it will be back to the recipe that I hope will be as yummy as it sounds (did i mention the Pâte à choux dumplings?).  If all goes well today there should be plenty of time in the studio tomorrow....

Haven't had dumplings since I was a kid at school, bet they taste so darn good. Enjoy.

You are a busy woman! The sewing machine project sounds intriguing...and the dumplings - divine :) Happy painting.

Sounds all so good Beth, as you said the roundness of life. All in one day :)) well except for the painting then.

Came to your blog as a result of 'Artful Blogging'. I didn't imagine someone in Illinois was doing the same as me! I too look forward to creating ... although cooking, laundry and school projects can dictate the order of events! But somehow it seems to work itself out. Enjoy your painting time when it comes! And I look forward to checking out your blog often.

Just from these little glimpses I can see your studio is organized and inviting! My workspace needs a major overhaul as it also seconds as the family dumping ground. Grrr!!! Maybe that's why it hasn't called on me in so very long!
Enjoy your dumplings. Yum!

your posts bring back memories of when my 3 sons were home and I was either baking, cooking, going to their classrooms, going to their sports games-- mainly soccer-- cleaning and laundry-- and still tried to get some painting done--what amazing years-- I know you enjoy them.
