I almost forgot to share...

...this amazing 6x6 encaustic piece I received as part of the Bee Team holiday exchange.  "Sheep Patterns" was created by the amazingly talented Kari J. Young. I love the color and texture in her work but most of all I love the subject of this piece (you know how I feel about wool...).  So a big warm thank you Kari, I love it!

isn't it great to get art in exchange for art?
one of the perks about being an artist...

there are not many "have tos" here. tomorrow night there is an open studio event at the center so we can meet the community (i wonder if people attend things when it's so cold?) We can also volunteer to give a talk in the local schools which sounds like fun. other than that it's just time to dream, rest and create. Can you imagine?

even though we have never met I wish you were here!! I think you'd love it.

I love the idea of an art exchange...

just went to an alpaca farm today with my mum who is a wool freak... they are such wonderful creatures and their fleece is just beautiful. Have you worked with alpaca fleece?
