seeing things (and seeing past them too)...

She Liked The Idea Of Seeing The Forrest AND The Trees

Perspective is a tricky thing to navigate. My goal (most of the time) is to be in the moment as a person, a wife, a mother and daughter.  But I am finding it necessary to step back and take a glimpse from the outside in many situations lately in order to really understand what things mean and to fully take them in and appreciate them for what they are.  I'm not sure if that makes any sense.  The world seems be a very one or the other place these days but I feel really connected to the idea of both.  I don't want to see the forrest through the trees...I want to see the forrest AND the trees. Do you know what I mean?
I've been working a lot and will have more to share soon :)

Hello Sunshine...

Night Swimmer No.14

Get Out The Shovel

It's been awhile since I've written (and I really should be packing) but I wanted to share some new work and say hi & bye for the week.  Last week was spent helping all three kiddos get ready for the road trip to Florida with my parents and then the sunshine and 50 degree temps pulled me out into the garden and yard for much of the weekend. C and I moved 150 cement blocks from the driveway and created a walkway around the garden beds which we filled in with pea stones. When we moved into this place last summer the garden was already so overgrown there was no way we could win the war on the weeds so we were determined to get ahead start this year. Then we unloaded and stacked just under 700 pavers which will become a patio sometime this spring (that was an unexpected project but we came across a deal that was too good to pass up!).  All the lifting, stacking and digging has taken it's toll and I am tired and sore and very much looking forward to joining the kids and my parents tomorrow in the sunshine state.  A little swimming, a little pool side reading, and a little Harry Potter sound just about perfect right now. Have a great week and I'll see you back here renewed, refreshed and sunkissed.
