Homebody

I love being at home: cooking, reading the paper, knitting, painting, maybe a board game (although truth be told i don't really have the patience for board games so I usually chop and cook while C plays with the kids).   But this autumn weekend we have lots of plans and being at home isn't on the list.  We have "Outdoor Movie Night" at the boy's school tonight, a couple of soccer games tomorrow and dinner with friends and then Sunday we head into the city for a ballgame (Cubs vs. Giants....GO CUBBIES!).  What are you up to this weekend?

Oh-and a special to thanks for all your kind words and inquiries on my last post..."Mistaken Identity" and "She Gets Me" have both found new homes which makes me happy and a bit sad at the same time.  Do you ever feel that way as you sell your work?  On that note I'll leave you with this tune....

Wow, that sounds like an action packed weekend! I love being at home too. Love your new house ladies... such a great symbol! We are just trying to clean up, do laundry and catch up over the weekend - with a picnic thrown in somewhere. We probably sound boring :) Boring can be good tho! Happy weekend to all of you.

I love these house women so much. I am such a house person myself. I've made plans to go to a piano concert this afternoon, but it is raining and I'd rather be in my house. Actually, I want to be in my attic studio making artwork about houses.

As far as parting with artwork, I can do it easily with the newer pieces. However, there are a few older pieces that are quite autobiographical that I find it very difficult to think about parting with. These pieces are part of me and part of my home.

Boring is good brenda! There's nothing like catching up and hanging out to really make you feel like you've actually had a weekend.

kim-an attic studio on a rainy day sounds perfect to me!
