gocco love...

It's amazing how difficult it can be to commit to using two gocco bulbs. Does anyone else have this problem? I think it's because the supplies are not readily available and I'm an instant gratification kind of gal (I'm remedying this by ordering a large supply of bulbs). These sweeties are two separate drawings  layered for the final magic flash. The first photo is of the print itself in black ink and the second is colored in with pencil...I was planning to paint them with gouache but there just wasn't time for that today.  Hibernation mode is about to set in here with temps hovering around 0 for the rest of the week so I plan on getting lots of work done....

I know what you mean about the flashbulb feeling! Ordering more is also on my list... I have not used mine since my daughter's birth announcements. I have a secret wish to do a zine using the gocco.

I can totally relate. In a way it's kind of a bad thing because I don't experiment as much as I would like to with the Gocco. I worry about "wasting" bulbs and screens. I hope i'll get over this soon.

Who are you ordering from?

love the print!

wasting bulbs is right...as i looked into ordering more bulbs today i discovered the prices had doubled and that word on the street is gocco is not shipping any more supplies to the us! (dec 2008 was the end date).
so i think it's the universe telling me to stop cheating on encaustics with gocco and get back to work!
warm wishes...b
