Block Party...

Block Party
(it takes all kinds)

Not much to report today except that I'm happily busy painting, baking bread, trying to finish Annabel (the curse of the simple sweater is that it allows your mind to wander and so I found myself repeatedly making mistakes and having to pull stitches back), folding loads of laundry, giving the chickens some free range time and starting on a weekend of yard clean up with three kiddos who had no school today. I finished the painting right up there very late last night and am loving the colors, the mood and the energy in this piece. I know which house in Block Party would be mine the question is...which house would be yours?

the pink one with the writing on it! Just wandered in from Carole Reid's blog. I love your work! It has that look where I say "I wish I'd done that" which in my mind is the highest complement.

And love the feeling your blog exudes, this warm, cozy feeling of a full, rich life. And I love those handmade shoes! I have shoe envy now!

thank you for your kind words. i just checked out your blog and i can see you in the pink house under the butterfly : ) unfortunately it's much to cold for the handmade shoes now and so they are lovingly tucked away until spring....

Dear Beth, it's getting colder and colder over here. just like in your corner of the world. The house i would pick is the one right next to YOU! I would come over for tea and we would have looots of lovely conversations about life looking over your yard and your chickens :))))

Thank you for your warm and sweet words the other week..it made my day :)) So sorry i was too bussy until now to let you know.

dana-that would be perfect because you would be courageous which is exactly what you have been this past year : ) i am a little bit of all these but mostly i'm the blue sky house...

Not to be a copycat but it's the blue sky house for me too. I love the checked green roof and the blue sky above. You should have seen the wind storm we had here yesterday.....no blue sky in sight!

love your uplifting creations. this piece reminds me of two of my favorite picture books- "The Big Orange Splot" & "The Araboolies of Liberty Street"...both about happy dream houses.
