Gezelligheid* Concert

Tonight I'm going to this place to hear this man. I am anticipating nothing short of magical. Happy Friday : )

* Gezelligheid (Dutch pronunciation: [ɣəzɛlɪɣhɛit]) is a Dutch abstract noun (adjective form gezellig) which, depending on context, can be translated as convivial, cosy, fun, quaint, or nice atmosphere, but can also connote belonging, time spent with loved ones, the fact of seeing a friend after a long absence, or general togetherness. The word is considered to be an example of untranslatability, and is one of the hardest words to translate to English.[1] Some consider the word to encompass the heart of Dutch culture.[2]

You are so right. Gezelligheid is a very hard word to translate for me. Gezelligheid means so much or maybe it is because I'm just a Dutchie.

Hope you are gonna get a lot of gezelligheid. Now it is time to check out the links.

I had to take a second…and a third look when I saw the title of this post… ‘gezelligheid’? This strange thought can me to me; Is Beth suddenly writing in my native language??? It is such a typical Dutch word there is almost no way to explain it to foreigners :))
And it’s so Christmas!

The link with the Andrew Bird song was so wonderful, I got goosebumps…
Have a great holiday my dear overseas friend, I’ll be thinking of you :))
