The Stargazers (gathering dreams from souls lost at sea)

Here is a peek at the almost completed painting I showed you the other day.  This evolved a little differently than originally intended but I'm really happy with it.  I like the pale blues and browns on the top and the star catching net is really just bursting with stars...

I love this one...the mood of it is great! The stars in the net are very cool - is the net something 3-D or did you draw it?

hi brenda...i piled a bunch of stars (dreams) in one spot and gently layered them with wax in a hammock shape...then I heat fused it all and drew the net. finally i filled in the drawing with an oil bar...in person it has lots of dimension. it's kind of an extension of what i did with the jars in your painting "under the stars".

I always think it's good work when a painting triggers a story or reminds a person of something.

i think about the lakes that are like oceans where you live and how cold they are and how brave people were to sail upon them. and... and...

i guess the painting reminds me of going back generations.

happy friday, janice
