The Awakening...

The moment before the awakening is quiet and there is a sense of calm which will be unparalleled for months to come.   Once our spirit is stirred it hums with energy and a sense of purpose.  This idea of an awakening resonates very deeply in me right now as I become more involved in a creative and supportive community of encaustic artists whose beautiful work can be seen on beeswax.com.

yes...the hands are a part of a photograph copied onto thin paper and then embedded in between the layers of wax. the funny thing is these ladies spent 3 days being stacked jars but that was going nowhere so i peeled back a few layers of wax and saw people in the forms...

I am so pleased to have found you. Just this past week, for the first time I ventured out of the box and worked with some beeswax. I know I've a long way to go but I'm so encouraged by your art and look forward to developing my skills.

beth, i really appreciate the links you provide within your text, especially the one to beeswax.com. within the past week, wax as a medium has been brought to my attention and i'm certain it's no accident. thanks so much ! m.a.
