Big ideas (little time)

I woke up at 5 am with a few new ideas so i promptly crept downstairs to sketch them onto my studio table ( my mind isn't what it used to be!).  I was so excited about starting on these new pieces that I spent the afternoon clipping my newsprint and laying things out for all 5 paintings.
( there is a third small "puppet" but she was a little camera shy...)
Anyways, I'm looking forward to finishing these up over the next few days and adding them to my shop along with a few of my other recent works which have been patiently awaiting frames.
I hope everyone had a beautiful and inspiring weekend!

I love seeing the work at the beginning. it's so fun to watch it morph into a finished piece. Thanks for posting them at this stage.

5am is a good healthy start! i am awake at that hour, or maybe 5.30 for the morning breastfeed but to leap into recording ideas is still way beyond me! it's great that you are overflowing with ideas :)

oh... i did go back to bed after recording my ideas ( i think a notebook on the night stand may be a good idea). i didn't actually get to implementing my ideas until around 2pm and by then it was almost time to start dinner...time flies when you want to work! It's funny because then there are some days where I have time but no inspiration....

These look intriguing... I'm going to keep a close eye on your shop! :)
I'm right there with you recording ideas before they fly right out of the mind again! (I never used to be that way before kids...)

Your collage images are so cool - do you have a clip art book or take your own photos and xerox or?

Hey Beth

I am the same as you and get ideas while I am horizontal... I have a notebook by my bed and there have been a few times when inspiration has come, I've scribbled down my wonderful ideas and then go back to sleep with a smile on my face at my sheer brilliance... BUT morning comes and I open my little notebook and it is a complete mess, I can't make head nor tale of it!!! most annoying!
Or I can make out what I have drawn but it doesn't seem like such a brilliant idea any more.

I am looking forward to seeing these new ones finished.. I agree with Janice it is really interesting to see them at a begining stage.

My weekend was good and warm, summer is just around the corner...

katherine...i agree some ideas don't seem as good once the sun rises (but i totally get the getting back to sleep with a smile on my face!)....
brenda...most of my collage images are newsprint or clip art of a random piece of a photo xeroxed...

These are the good times beth, enjoy!! I am happy you are so insipired these days. And i am very curious what the new ones will show us later...
