grey skies and tumbling houses....

element of change

a line of houses
(like a trail of bread crumbs leading me to my story)

My daughter commented that my latest work seems sad. I like to see it more as "winter work". I see it as reflective, emotional and quiet work that speaks truths. I like Winter. I like the inwardness of the season and find that regardless of what else is going on in life it is a restorative time. It is the big in breath to Spring and Summer's out breath. And while many people enjoyed the unseasonably warm few days last week I was not one of them. I'm not
ready yet. I need a bit more time to mull things over. To be still.
How about you?

I love the tumbling houses; it reminds me of a garland of paper circles I made once. I felt a bit panicked with that warm weather so I guess I'm not quite ready either. Check with me again in a week or so... ;)

Oh! I am so relieved to hear a kindred spirit about winter! I feel exactly the same way! New Englanders have to be the worst for complaining about their seasonal weather and I enjoy every changing minute of all of it!! Love your new work!

Love your work! The "stitching together" of inconnectedness is brilliant!

The weather is our British favourite topic!! There's always something to talk about haha!!

I love your latest work - house shapes have been important for me for quite a while.

Lovely work. It doesn't seem sad, but the winter palette is more muted and I guess would seem that way.

The tumbling houses are beautiful. I agree that it's winter work. Winter is the time for introspection and you've conveyed that beautifully. I'm looking forward to spring but, like you, I want a bit more time to figure out who I am this season. It's so wonderful to meet an amazing artist like yourself. It has inspired me today. Thank you! I think I'll go off and make my own winter piece now. :)
