her example::my 1st attempt (ahem)::my 2nd attempt (yay!)
1. Have an infinitely talented friend come over to sit side by side and walk you thru the directions for making a granny square with a circle center.
2. Embarrass yourself by making wonky double crochets, choosing hideous color combinations and leaving your creation/monstrosity unfinished under the guise of having to serve lunch to said friend.
3. After the friend has gone, sit quietly and methodically follow the instructions while admiring the effortless grace and beauty of her work.
Thank you friend, I think I've got it!

Looks good!! I LOVE crochet - it seems once you know a couple stitches and how to read the patterns, you can make the most impressive things :)
We always seem to be doing the same things or sharing similar experiences! I wonder if you've been making lots of butternut squahs soups too like I have been. :)
Looks good. Crochet can be so crazy- I love that about it. Have fun!
