Moonlight Message

I painted the background for this piece early yesterday but struggled with the decision about it's subject.  I considered a lone swimmer, a bed of seaweed and even a mermaid but nothing seemed quite right.  I'm not sure where the bottle idea came from but it seemed like a good fit.
The idea of a message in a bottle is intriguing...it holds the possibility of hope, despair, love or loss.  The thing that resonates with me is the idea that someone put the message out there into the great void not knowing if the note would  ever be found, seen or understood....

This is lovely, the swirls in the water are great. I enjoy night scenes, there's something magical about the moon over water...

Are the silvery flecks paper or paint?

I love the bottle idea and the way you wrote about it, it's a bit like starting a blog... not knowing whether someone will ever read it or get your message.

A really lovely piece of work and writing.

Thank you for your kind words, and I hope your family gets well soon too.
