As promised here are two new paintings in progress. If all goes according to plan they should be finished up with a layer of beeswax and inscribed with details over the weekend....stay tuned. After dabbling in the studio it was time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine...today the kids and I planted broccoli, lettuces, sweet peas and radishes (spring you're really here to stay, right?). I love this time of the year when the lilac bushes are full of buds, the birds fill the air with song and the screen door allows the outside in.....what's your favorite thing about spring?

I love how your garden bed echoes your paintings. Really beautiful, Beth. Both.
Take care, Tara
a happy accident! (life imitating art.....)
Gasp! Both are lovely, but I love the barn painting... I've been thinking about doing some barns. (the town I grew up in is rural and had lots of old barns...and fields- some leaning/swaying and some have been re-built. They have a special place in my heart.)
The veg garden looks great! Sounds like it is spring where you are too - finally.
these look very intersting. i love the colours, so different from what i normally see in your work. Can't wait to see them finished. Spring is to me the most cherished and beautiful time of the year. I love it because of the promise and hope and cripsness, i love everything about it. I can't choose.
beth i love the paintings. the colours are a little different, can't wait to see them done.
i love how you can peel off the heavy layers at the start of spring! {am just starting to layer up here!}
hi there...the colors are a little different because these are going to be evening/dusk pictures.
it must be spring because i'm back to sprouts and planting (full circle from my start almost one year ago!) thanks for the comments and may the growing energy of spring find you all this weekend!
what a perfect little garden :)
( a bit better than my sad little planter pot last summer of lettuce that kept going to seed )
love the paintings and the picture of your garden! My mil told me that I should wait until after mother's day to put anything in the ground...but I see you don't follow that saying. I really want to get started on veggie pots!
